Microsoft Edge – Typosquatting

Typosquatting is a type of social engineering attack that targets internet users, by praying on those who incorrectly type in the URLs. 

We often see criminals registering domains of fairly common misspelled domains, such as ofice.com. Once the end-user has entered the incorrectly spelled site and hit Go, it may not be obvious to the average PC user.

To prevent Microsoft have introduced a feature that help prevent typosquatting;

To turn this feature on, in Microsoft Edge, go to Settings > Privacy, search, and services > Website typo protection;
