Driver Cannot Load – iqvw64e.sys

With Windows 11 becoming more and more popular due to the deadline of Windows 10, we have seen a small increase in driver issue, more specifically, “A security setting is detecting this as a vulnerable driver and blocking it from loading. You’ll need to adjust your settings to load this driver.”

This prompt is due to a setting within Windows 11 Defender. Windows Security > Device Security > Core isolation details > Microsoft Vulnerable Driver Blocklist. More information here – Microsoft KB.

In this post, and this driver in question (iqvw64e.sys) – I’ll show you the steps on how I resolved it.

Intune – How to start pushing out Defender for Endpoint on Windows Devices automatically?

All Windows devices come with their own anti-virus – Windows Defender, but what is Defender For Endpoint, and how do we start pushing it out to our corporate devices?

Microsoft Defender for Endpoint is an enterprise-level security platform designed to help businesses prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to advanced cyber threats on their devices (also known as “endpoints” — like computers, laptops, and mobile devices).

Key Features:

  1. Threat Protection – Detects and blocks malware, ransomware, and other types of cyberattacks.
  2. Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) – Monitors activities on devices to spot suspicious behavior and helps investigate attacks.
  3. Attack Surface Reduction – Limits the ways attackers can get into systems (e.g., controlling app behavior or blocking malicious websites).
  4. Automated Investigation and Response – Uses AI to analyze threats and take action without needing manual input every time.
  5. Threat Intelligence – Uses data from Microsoft’s global threat database to identify new and emerging threats.

It’s like a smart security system for all company devices — watching for problems, alerting IT teams, and even taking action automatically to keep everything safe.

Providing you have the correct licenses, this post will show you how I push out Defender for Endpoint with devices enrolled into Intune.

Google Chrome – Network Prediction Issues

If like us you are running third-party web filtering such as GoGuardian or Smoothwall Cloud Filter – you may see an uptick in Google Searches being blocked.

In Google Chrome version 134, we are seeing a new feature turned on called Network Prediction;

Google Chrome’s network prediction feature aims to improve page load speeds by prefetching data for websites you’re likely to visit. This includes DNS prefetching, TCP and SSL preconnection, and prerendering of web pages. While this can speed up browsing, it might also lead to connections to websites you don’t intend to visit.

An example of this is that you may block Reddit. Then someone might be searching for ‘how to …‘ and one of the top two search results points to Reddit. Network Prediction can pre-fetch Reddit, causing a blocked splash screen or access denied, even though that person hasn’t actively clicked on the Reddit link.

HP Laptop – Third-Party Battery Block?

HP Printers have recently blocked non-genuine ink cartridges. We’ve seen an influx of users buying the cheaper generic store-brand cartridges, only to get them home and have HP block them from using it. Now we have seen ways around this, such as rolling back the firmware of the printer, but to your average home user, this isn’t particularly straightforward.

To add to this, a new client has been having an issue with their laptop, this…
